INDEPENDENCE DAY
INDEPENDENCE DAY
Date: 15th August 2025
Venue: Prestige Public School
The 79th Independence Day was celebrated at Prestige Public School with grandeur, patriotic fervor, and an overwhelming sense of pride. The entire campus came alive with vibrant colours, enthusiastic performances, and the spirited presence of students, staff, and parents.
The celebration began promptly at 9:00 a.m. with the ceremonial flag hoisting by our respected Senior Head, Mrs. Jayasree Ma'am, accompanied by the Flag Salute, a soulful five-minute Flag Song, and the Pledge. The Plus Two students also joined the gathering, adding to the solemnity and pride of the occasion. Mrs. Jayasree Ma'am then addressed the gathering with an inspiring message, reminding everyone of the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the responsibilities we shoulder as proud citizens of India.
The cultural segment was a spectacular showcase of talent and patriotism. It opened with a Malayalam speech by lyna Yusaf (Grade 7A), followed by a patriotic song that filled the atmosphere with emotion. The KG fancy-dress presentation, where tiny tots represented the states of India, won everyone's hearts. An Arabic patriotic song, English speech by Fella Fathima (Grade 6A), a dance performance by Grade I, and a tableau depicting the freedom struggle added both charm and depth to the program. The energy soared with the boys' dynamic dance, the Hindi speech by Rizwa (Grade XB), and the girls' breathtaking aerobics dance.
As a prelude to the grand day, a series of competitions had been conducted: quiz on freedom fighters, flag colouring (Class I), tricolour hand printing (Class II), flag making (Class III), card making (Class IV), badge making (Class V), and notice board decoration (Classes VI-X). The overwhelming participation of students this year, compared to previous years, was remarkable.
The prize distribution ceremony honoured winners of these competitions, applauding their creativity and efforts. The program concluded with the National Anthem, leaving every heart brimming with patriotic pride.
This year's celebration was one of the most memorable in Prestige history-well-coordinated, punctual, and culturally rich. Parents and PTA members appreciated the quality and vibrancy of the program, noting the significant increase in student participation, particularly with the enthusiastic involvement of Plus Two students. The PTA added a sweet touch to the day by distributing ladoos to all.
The 79th Independence Day at Prestige Public School truly reflected India's unity in diversity, standing as a shining example of discipline, talent, and patriotism.
